Cerne Abbas Giant gets urgent chalk refresh as rain erodes ancient outline
The 55-metre chalk figure, one of Britain’s most recognizable landmarks, is being rechalked early due to heavier winter rains washing away its outline. Volunteers are scaling the hillside this week to apply 17 tonnes of fresh chalk before erosion and algae obscure the Giant’s defining features.
