Ancient ‘living fossil’ plant returns to Hampshire heath after 400m years

A prehistoric marsh clubmoss, unchanged since the Carboniferous era, has been reintroduced to Eelmoor Marsh in Hampshire by Marwell Wildlife. The endangered species was planted as part of a £500,000 restoration project to revive one of England’s rarest habitats.
